Each year Washington produces some of the best wrestlers in the Nation, this year was no exception with honors of Double All-American status at Schoolboy and Cadet National Duals while the Juniors received Greco All-American but fell just shy of Freestyle. WSWA took 102 kids to compete in Fargo Nationals, crowning 4 National Champions and 27 All-Americans. Here is a glimpse of what we deem the Top 25 Wrestlers pound for pound looks like in Washington State. On top of the totem pole this year is 2x State Champion Brandon Kaylor from Bonney Lake, he is currently ranked 4th in the Nation by Flowrestling, a UWW World Team Member, he is the only Junior Double All-American in Fargo by placing 5th in Greco and 3rd in Freestyle and he was undefeated at Junior National Duals in both styles. Not only is BK the most decorated wrestler this past season he also seeks the best competition by bumping at times multiple weight classes to face opponents that provide the greatest challenge. This will be an exciting season with such a large talent pool; certainly we will see some big upsets with such a fundamentality sound Freshman Class arriving on the scene... February will tell the tale in Tacoma! |

Dark Horse - "candidates or competitors about whom little is known but who unexpectedly wins or succeeds…" These are the kids who haven't placed at State or never made the top 4; however in my prediction will upset some top seeded kids and find themselves on the top few steps of the podium in Tacoma... |
