After a stellar performance at the TOA Northwest Big Foot, Israel “Izzy” Acosta is this week’s Athlete of the Week.  Izzy has wrestled since he was 3 years old and is number 4 of 8 children; when meeting this family please do not get confused cause all their kids’ names start with I and 5 of them compete with Hell’s Canyon Wrestling Club.

Izzy has competed the last 2 years at Reno Worlds, placing 3rd in 2015 and 5th in 2016.  He is a Washington Greco State Champion and has placed every year he has competed in the Folkstyle State Championship.  Izzy is placer at Rocky Mountain Nationals and Big Horn Nationals.

Israel loves wrestling however when he isn’t you can find him competing on the football fields during football season.  Izzy has a bright future with wrestling and when we asked who he looks up to and who is his hero? He replied, “My Dad because he has taught me how to wrestle and he teaches me most of my moves and coaches me.”
