  • 2X’s State Champion 6th Freshman year.
  • US Air Force Academy Commit

Will attend US Air Force Prep Academy in July 2019.

Brenden enters his HS freshman year as a young 14 year old weighing only 89lb.  By the beginning of HS wrestling season he was able to get his weight up to 92lb with a little help of puberty.  While most is cutting down to make 106-108 most of the HS season, Brenden was forcing down anything you can think of to get as close to 106 but the most he’s gotten was 96lb by post season.  Giving up between 10-15 at most times, he was still able to deliver a 39-9 record losing only to State Champs & high ranked wrestlers. Three of those loses came to his own partner/mentor Brandon Kaylor 4x BLHS State Champ (OSU). Brenden survived the bracket at State and took 6th overall.  He then followed up with a stellar Fargo performance doubling up in Cadet & Junior Division as double finalist in Greco as runner up and 7thplace FS, 3X’s Fargo All-American.

Sophomore year: Brenden was able to maintain his weight walking around 103 and 106 by post-season.  A very competitive traveling schedule and bigger tournaments, Brenden was able to deliver a 41-5 record winning a few major tournaments such as Edmonds, Rose City, and placing high at All SPSL, Gut Check and 4that the tough Reno TOC and first Mat Classic HS State Championship.  In the summer, Brenden had attempted doubling up for the second time with a little more challenges but was able come out 2X Fargo All-American.  Later that summer, he was also a UWW Greco World Team training partner and traveled with the team to Athens Greece and trained with the team there.

Junior year: the HS schedule continues to be competitive and finished with 38-10 records. Brenden wrestled the entire junior season at his walk around weight of 113 for tournaments and stepped up to 120 for duals giving up in size and weight.  Taking close losses in the upper weights were tough but necessary to prepare for college level challenges.  He was able to place high at Gut Check as runner up and another 4thplace finish at Reno TOC. The spring & summer of his junior year brought great fortune, placing 2ndat NHSCA HS Nationals in Virginia Beach, 1stplace in Greco UWW World Team Trails and participated at UWW Cadet Worlds in Zagreb, Croatia.  Brenden ended his summer at a 2X Jr. Fargo All-American, winning the Greco and 3rd place in FS.
